Wherever you are reading this, chances are that someone around you right now has had their life changed by breast cancer.
Maybe it’s the person who served you coffee this morning. Perhaps the person you sat next to on the bus. Maybe you’re thinking of someone close to you – a friend, family member or partner. Perhaps even you yourself have experienced the numbing reality of being told you may have breast cancer.
At this very moment, thousands of women, men and their loved ones across Leicestershire and Rutland are living with – and fighting against – breast cancer.
That’s why, every year, we celebrate these breast cancer patients, the family and friends who support them, and the Breast Care Centre staff who help treat them, by holding our Butterfly Walk.
This fabulously fun, family-friendly event brings together people from all across our region to walk together to raise important funds that help to make our hospitals’ breast care services even better.
Leicester’s biggest breast cancer fundraising event returns better and brighter than ever in 2019, with a wonderful walk around Winstanley House and Braunstone Park on Sunday 9 June.
There’s plenty for the whole family to enjoy. From face painting and other entertainment for kids to live music, a raffle and tombola and more!
Get into the spirit by suiting up in your finest fairy fancy dress or come in your most silly or sensational outfit!

About the Breast Care Centre
The Breast Care Centre is a purpose-built unit at Glenfield Hospital which brings together the specialist staff needed to provide the majority of all breast care services for the people of Leicestershire.
They are always in need of support to improve what they do. Whether that’s help with refurbishments in the Breast Care Centre itself to improve the environment for patients, purchasing equipment or aiding their Research Fund which supports Breast Cancer research projects right here in Leicester.
